dt is Donna Toich, an Architect with 20+ years’ experience in the industry. She studied B.Arch at TUKS (University of Pretoria), graduating in 1998.
She started her career in Cape Town at KMH Architects where she primarily focused on residential architecture, designing more than 20 houses at Sunset Links Golf Estate.
In 2002, Donna studied MBA at UCT GSB which changed the way she saw buildings and life. After working in corporate 3D (interior) branding, she moved to Umhlanga.
For three years, Donna worked with Michael Tod at MTA Durban. Retail and commercial architecture were the primary focus including award winning Bluff Towers and Granada Square.
Dubai was the next chapter where two years were spent in the boom time working at DSA International and RMJM working on high-rise developments and the Master Planning of 23 towers at ADNEC Capital Centre in Abu Dhabi. During this time, she also qualified as a Project Manager through APMP UK.
After a sabbatical in Hawaii, Donna returned to Johannesburg and re-joined KMH Architects and designed commercial buildings including Endress+ Hauser and Afrihost headquarters as well as multiple Akeso Psychiatric Clinics around South Africa. She also became a Greenstar SA Accredited Professional.
Since 2014, Donna has been running her own architectural practice dtARCHITECTURE working on commercial, industrial and luxury residential projects.
Her intention is to design beautiful functional buildings while creating environments that clients love to be in. Teamwork, landscape and interior integration, green design, experience and budget are all key ingredients to successful projects.
